Outdoor AX1800 Access Point
The RG-RAP6262(G) is an outdoor omni-directional Wi-Fi 6 access point designed for extending wireless connectivity across open outdoor areas. It supports Wi-Fi 6 based on IEEE 802.11ax while maintaining compatibility with Wi-Fi 5 and Wi-Fi 4 client devices, making it suitable for networks that include both current and older wireless equipment. With a dual-band 2 × 2 MU-MIMO RF design, the access point provides a maximum Wi-Fi speed of 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz, giving the device an AX1800-class wireless profile for everyday outdoor access scenarios.
The built-in omni-directional antenna design helps distribute wireless coverage around the installation point rather than focusing the signal in one narrow direction. Four integrated antennas support broad outdoor coverage, with a recommended coverage radius of 50 m on 2.4 GHz and 150 m on 5 GHz. For maximum coverage, the device is specified for up to 100 m on 2.4 GHz and 300 m on 5 GHz, although real performance depends on the environment and client devices. The access point supports up to 256 clients, with 100 recommended clients for practical deployment planning.
Reliable Outdoor Design
The RG-RAP6262(G) is built for outdoor installations where the access point may be exposed to moisture, dust, temperature changes, and electrical disturbances. Its IP68-rated enclosure provides a high level of ingress protection, while the sealed design is described as waterproof, dustproof, moisture-proof, flame-retardant, and protected against wind erosion. This makes the device suitable for demanding outdoor environments where conventional indoor access points would not be appropriate. The access point operates in temperatures from −30 °C to 65 °C and supports 0% to 100% non-condensing operating humidity, helping it remain usable across a wide range of weather conditions.
For network cabling protection, the device includes 4 kV port surge protection. Power can be supplied through IEEE 802.3at PoE or a 12 V DC power input, with power consumption up to 18 W. The use of PoE can simplify outdoor deployment by allowing both power and data to be delivered over Ethernet cabling. The mounting design is also adapted for outdoor use. The package includes pole clamps, a mounting plate, expansion bolts, screws, and pre-installed cable glands, supporting both pole and wall installation scenarios. The device itself measures 200 × 220 × 166 mm without the mounting bracket, giving installers a clear idea of the required mounting space.
Cloud-Based Management
For networks that need to expand outdoor coverage with less cabling, the RG-RAP6262(G) supports Reyee Mesh technology. This allows additional outdoor Wi-Fi coverage to be added more easily in suitable deployments, reducing the need to run wired links to every access point location. The device is also designed for cloud-based operation, with cloud management, app management, app upgrade, app restart, scheduled restart, local upgrade, online upgrade, and factory reset functions available for administration. Wireless management features include remote monitoring, remote Wi-Fi management, wireless intelligent optimization, and cloud portal authentication.
These functions help administrators configure and maintain outdoor wireless service without relying only on local access to each device. The access point also supports VLAN, DHCP client network access, SSID hiding, power adjustment, Layer 2 and Layer 3 roaming, and up to 8 SSIDs, making it suitable for separating wireless services or user groups within the same access point. To improve wireless operation, the device includes OFDMA, WMM, target wake time, radar signal detection and frequency hopping, Wi-Fi optimization, automatic RF adjustment through the platform, auto channel and power adjustment on cloud, and quick automatic channel selection. Security and access control functions include WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, WPA/WPA2-PSK, blacklist and whitelist, Layer 2 user isolation, STA limits, RSSI-based access thresholds, and tools for removing low-RSSI clients.
